The Makeup

When you think of the 1950's, what do you think of? The way they dressed, the way people talked, or the way women wore their makeup? I think of the makeup! The way to describe the 1950's makeup would be, it was glamorous decade for women's makeup. Creams were the thing that was in. It was used in place for foundations that are used today. Women used creams and eye shadow a lot! It was the era of the 'mask effect'. A thick creamy application of 'foundation' and a dab of red/pink colored powder to apply on their cheeks. Eyebrows still had a natural look but more tapered with. If there was a 'color' to define the 1950's, it would have to be pink/red. That's all they would wear on their lips for lipstick.
